Poetry, Pop & Politics at the Temple of Peace

The Temple of Peace is such a versatile venue that it can be used for just about anything. We would love to hear from you if you’re looking for a venue to host a poetry, pop, or politics event.

Political debates

As a secular centre for peace, the Temple of Peace is a neutral space to hold debates and talks on political issues. Previous events have included Brexit debates, discussions on current affairs and many more.

Live music performances

With great acoustics and PA equipment available, the Marble Hall is the ideal space for live music. We have a partnership with the local production company Sun Sounds which supports the students of the University of Wales to give them real work experience.

Literary readings

We welcome all kinds of literary events, from poetry readings and book signings to talks from authors. The council chamber is the home to many of the books from Lord Davies’ personal library and provides an impressive and apt backdrop for literary discussions and events. Or if a larger space is needed then the marble hall provides an inspiring space for higher capacities.

Artist exhibitions

We have various rooms available to hire that can be used as a space to exhibit artwork, host performance art or display your creativity however you would like. Get in touch to discuss the possibilities!

Don’t just take our word for it

"The day was wonderful and the ceremony at the Temple was beyond words.  I should like to say a huge thank you to the caretaker, Ian.  He was so helpful both before the ceremony, and in the days afterwards when I called to collect some things that had been left.  We had a couple of hiccoughs along the way, (caused by the closure of roads around the rugby stadium), but this all contributed to making the day memorable.

Would you please pass on Laura, Matthew's and my thanks to the young man who looked after the bar and to Ian - who helped to make the day very special.

With many thanks"

Jennifer Humphreys
