Your Wedding at the Temple of Peace
Why did you choose the Temple of Peace for your wedding?
Able to accommodate the required number of people but we were also very impressed with the marble halls appearance and character. We also liked the idea of the venue being run by a charity.
Did you have a theme for your day?
Vintage with soft pinks and purples
How did you decide on the other details of the day, the décor, dress, suits, food, etc?
We kept the décor to a minimum as we felt that the marble hall was a feature in itself and didn’t want to take away from that. Everything else was sourced independently by us as we were able to tailor the suppliers to suit our needs.
What do you remember most about your day, were there any surprises?
The day went by in a bit of a blur! A good one mind.
The weather held out which was a bonus for an early April wedding which meant we could have photographs inside Cathays park, outside the main entrance of the Temple to showcase the amazing architecture and then when it got dark the photographer lit the trees at the back of the Temple for some amazing shots.
What was the menu that you chose?
We used an independent family run hog roast company who put on a great spread including fresh salads, cheeseboards and desserts! Everyone we’ve seen since has commented on how good the food was.
How many guests did you have?
Around 130 in the day with a few extra in the evening
A quote from the bride about the day:
The whole day was amazing! The staff at the venue were brilliant and made sure that we didn’t have to worry about a thing.
A quote from the groom about the day:
It was lovely to have the reception in the Civic Centre near where my old university building was when I was a student many years ago! The evening reception was fun and everyone was impressed by the venue and the live band enjoyed getting everyone up and dancing. The uplighters made the hall look extra special when the sun went down.
